It is critical to the performance and longevity of your Cimarron pitching machine that you use Cimarron brand dimpled pitching machine balls. The accuracy and consistency of each pitch depends upon how well the pitching machine wheel grips the outer surface of the ball. Cimarron pitching machines are optimized for Cimarron pitching machine balls.
Cimarron dimpled pitching machine balls are made of polyurethane and are the exact same size and weight as a real leather baseball. But they pitch more consistently than leather baseballs because they have a consistent dimpled surface with no seams. The seams (and space in between the seams) on leather baseballs can affect how the pitching wheel grips the ball and can make the pitch inaccurate. The abrasive surface of the seams also wears out the pitchng wheel faster. The balls are bright yellow to make them easy to focus on and easy to find after you've hit them into deep left-center.
